( Quoted from Ron's email)
"One day I took the baby to Vernon Blvd to a clinic and when I got there, the doctor said, "What are you trying to do, kill this baby ?" I cried all the way home and I started to feed him chicgutty sandwiches and he was fine after that"
Ron has most of the story correct....I was 5 lbs at birth and being breast feed. When my mother took me to a clinic ( that's where people went that could not afford to go to a doctor) to be checked out, I was less then 5 lbs. The doctor discovered due to a poor diet my mother was not producing milk, so I was living on basically, water. I was put on a formula of evaporated milk and Karo syrup ( sugar based) and as the story goes after drinking the first bottle I slept for 12 hours...
and the story also continues, that my grandmother blamed my mother, saying if she did more work she would make milk...
actually my father was unemployed when I was born and my parents had very little nourishing food to eat.
Could it be that is really why I was called little Donnie ?

Ron, is this blog yours and your dads, and for family only? I'm not sure which blog to follow of the three that are listed on your dad's profile.
